Weber County Stormwater Coalition’s Annual Water Fair
Each spring, fourth grade students from across Weber County take part in the Weber County Stormwater Coalition’s Annual Water Fair, a hands-on learning event focused on water science, conservation, and stormwater awareness.
Designed to support Utah’s fourth grade core curriculum, the Water Fair introduces students to topics such as the water cycle, stormwater runoff, water conservation, and how everyday activities connect to local streams and rivers. Learning happens through interactive stations led by local agencies and organizations, making complex concepts engaging and age-appropriate.
Participating classes rotate through multiple presentations during a two-hour session. Teachers receive supportive handouts and materials for each student to extend learning back in the classroom. The event is free for participating schools, with bus transportation costs covered through the Weber County Stormwater Coalition.
OVWAG at the Water Fair
In 2026, the Ogden Valley Watershed Action Group (OVWAG) will be participating as one of the educational stations. OVWAG volunteers will help lead a hands-on watershed science activity using Ogden City’s Weber River Watershed Model, demonstrating how water moves across the landscape and how land use, runoff, and pollution can affect rivers and downstream water bodies.
This station helps students visualize how local watersheds function and why protecting water quality upstream matters for communities downstream.
