Preserve. Protect. Restore.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” — Margaret Mead

What we do.

The Ogden Valley Watershed Action Group brings together residents, landowners, and local partners to preserve, protect, and restore the lands and waters that sustain our valley. Through education, collaboration, and hands-on projects, we’re building a community of stewards who care for Ogden Valley’s water resources—today and for generations to come.

How we do it.

The Ogden Valley Watershed Action Group was facilitated by the Weber River Partnership to fulfill the requirements set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for recipients of grants appropriated by Congress under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act (EPA 2013). The group’s primary purpose is to educate Ogden Valley residents about sources of water pollution within the Ogden Valley. The group uses a variety of tools including educational handouts, events and workshops, and citizen science reporting forms to promote awareness of watershed health, increase access to resources, and empower citizens to steward their land and effectively manage water resources. The guiding document for the action group is the Ogden River 9-Element Watershed Plan which incorporates quantitative approaches to identify pollutant sources, define measurable targets, and identify control measures.

Ready to take the next step?

Our valley’s water connects us all — from the mountains, rivers, and underground aquifers to the reservoir and the people who call this place home. The Ogden Valley Watershed Action Group (OVWAG) is building a team of neighbors, volunteers, and partners to help preserve, protect, and restore our watershed. We need passionate people to help with education and outreach, event coordination, graphic design, community engagement, trash cleanups, environmental reporting, restoration projects and more.

Whether you’d like to volunteer your time or simply stay informed about our work, we’d love to connect with you.
